Electronic Technician II

Operations | Full-Time | Non-Exempt | Onsite

Compensation: $25.00–$36.00 per hour
Actual starting pay will be determined based on the candidate’s skills, experience, qualifications, and other relevant business considerations.

The Opportunity

Electro Rent is looking for an experienced Electronic Technician II to join our Operations team. This is a hands-on technical role for someone who enjoys troubleshooting complex electronic equipment, identifying root causes, and completing high-quality repairs and calibration work.

You will work with electronic test and measurement equipment, performing diagnostics, performance verification, modular and component-level repairs, upgrades, and product modifications. Your work helps ensure equipment is accurate, reliable, and ready to support our customers.

Responsibilities

What You'll Do

•  Perform diagnostics, calibration, and performance verification on assigned electronic products.

•  Troubleshoot and repair equipment at the component and modular level.

•  Execute automated test and diagnostic programs to evaluate equipment performance.

•  Complete product upgrades and modifications as directed.

•  Maintain product library and accessory updates as required.

•  Document tests, repairs, and services accurately in Company systems, including PERFECT / Microsoft Dynamics AX.

•  Apply established industry standards, quality practices, and technical procedures to assigned work.

•  Manage multiple assignments while maintaining accuracy, quality, and attention to detail.

•  Operate Company vehicles, when required, in accordance with Company safety policies and applicable federal, state, local, and DOT requirements.

Qualifications

What You'll Bring

•  Associate degree in electronics, formal technical coursework with equivalent knowledge and certification, or comparable technical training.

•  Approximately four (4) years of experience in electronic troubleshooting and repair, plus additional experience in a technical specialization.

•  Working knowledge of electronic instrumentation, diagnostic programming, and automated test programs.

•  Working knowledge of applicable industry standards and quality practices for the assigned product segment.

•  Strong troubleshooting, problem-solving, organization, and attention-to-detail skills.

•  Ability to communicate effectively and work both independently and collaboratively in a deadline-driven environment.

•  PMEL certification preferred.

Position Details

Work arrangement: Onsite

Schedule: Full-time; 40+ hours per week

 

Physical requirements: Ability to lift, carry, push, and pull objects up to 25 pounds and, through the Company Team Lift program, assist with moving equipment up to 150 pounds.
