Overview

Electro Rent is looking for a contract Digital Commerce Systems Analyst to bridge business teams (Sales, Marketing, Product, Operations) and our web-platform dev squad. You’ll turn ideas into clear requirements, shepherd them through the delivery pipeline, and handle first-line analysis when production issues pop up. The focus: customer-facing web, B2B e-commerce, punch-out integrations, and our MyER portal. Expect a highly collaborative, fast-moving environment where you own the tactical “glue” work that keeps features shipping.

Responsibilities

  • Requirements & user stories – Run discovery sessions, document current vs. future workflows, write concise user stories / acceptance criteria, and keep Azure DevOps and Freshservice up to date.
  • Business–tech liaison – Translate commercial priorities into technical language and vice-versa; make sure both sides agree on scope and definition of done.
  • Sprint support – Attend stand-ups, clarify open questions, manage backlog grooming and prioritization in concert with the Development Manager. Sometimes play the role of "Scrum Master".
  • Defect triage & light support – Replicate, diagnose, and route bugs coming from users; own communication back to stakeholders until resolution.
  • Data & integration sanity checks – Validate that changes play nicely with internal platforms.
  • UAT coordination – Build test scripts, organize business testers, log results, and certify releases.
  • Continuous improvement mindset – Surface quick-win UX fixes and KPI trends to the Product Manager for roadmap consideration.

Qualifications

  • 5+ years in a Business Systems Analyst / Functional Analyst role on customer-facing web or e-commerce platforms.
  • Hands-on experience with B2B portals, punch-out (cXML/OCI), and order-to-cash or rental workflows.
  • Solid grasp of Agile ceremonies, story writing, and backlog management.
  • Comfortable reading API payloads / logs and using browser dev tools to isolate front-end issues.
  • Excellent communication skills—able to brief execs in plain English and dive into details with developers.
  • Prior exposure to Salesforce Commerce Cloud, BigCommerce, or similar is a plus.
  • Familiarity with Azure DevOps/Jira, basic SQL, and web analytics tools preferred.
  • Spanish speaking a plus
