Position Summary:

The Order Management Specialist is responsible for ensuring all orders ship on time, completed and in good working order within the confines of Electro Rent policies. The Order Expediter will follow up on the commitments made by the sales organization to the customer to ensure that the commitments are fulfilled.

 

Once the order has been created the Order Management Specialist is the central point of contact between the sales department and all other internal departments that need to be engaged for order fulfillment. This role also requires direct involvement with the customer as they will be interfacing with them on the order fulfillment journey so too are aware of any issues that pertain to delivery expectations.

Responsibilities

  • Constant review of orders to ensure they will ship on time.
  • Works with purchasing to monitor delivery expectations.
  • Works with our credit department and supplies them with all necessary paperwork needed.
  • Will interface with the customer to gather all necessary documents to fulfill any requirements laid out by the credit department.
  • Will work with our shipping department to communicate any special instructions regarding shipping
  • Will work with the technical lab to confirm the equipment will be complete to ship on time.
  • Identifies past due orders and will work with the sales team and management to find a resolution.
  • Responds to sales inquiries regarding the status of orders and will engage sales when there are unforeseen delays from purchasing or the lab.
  • Performs other tasks as assigned.

Qualifications

  • Tactful approach with sensitive information
  • Requires good computer skills with the ability to access, input and retrieve data from the Company database and basic working knowledge of Excel and Word
  • Strong initiative and good organizational skills are necessary
  • Knowledge typically gained through (2) two years administrative and (1) one year sales related experience
  • Ability to work overtime as necessary.

Experience & Education

  • AA degree or equivalent is preferred but not required
  • Two (2) years within administrative and (1) one-year sales related experience

Measurement of Performance

  • Level of accuracy and follow-up on pending orders
  • General job performance as defined by standard company performance evaluation and requirements.

 

*This role will work remote and may require occasional travel into corporate offices or customers

* Compensation for this role will range between $60,000 and $72,000 total on target earnings depending on experience

 

Physical Requirements

  • All positions will require, to some degree, the physical abilities described below to perform the essential functions of the job
  • Work the expected hours, consistently arrive at work at the agreed time and follow Company rules and guidelines regarding breaks and meal periods. Full time is typically considered to be 40 hours per week
  • Communicate effectively, both oral (in person and on the phone) and written.
  • Move around and through all work areas as needed, may include climbing stairs or ladders
  • Lift and/or move up to 10 pounds (i.e. books, reports, binders etc.)
  • Regularly sit at the assigned workstation
  • Use keyboard or equivalent equipment, to access the computer,
  • Use hands to manipulate documents and general paperwork to view contents
  • Read documents, reports, files etc.
  • Communicate effectively using the telephone
  • Travel may be required for this role up to 40%
