    JOB DESCRIPTION

    Summary/Objective

     

    We are actively seeking an Account Analyst - Collections to support the collections function by ensuring that all aging targets are met. The role includes being the primary point of contact for customers in securing payments and working with internal teams to ensure timely resolution of outstanding issues. This is a senior position who proactively manages an assigned group of customer accounts receivables through direct customer contact to minimize past due balances, in addition to performing data analysis and process innovation for the collection function.

    Responsibilities

    ·         Following established guidelines, contacts assigned accounts directly to effectively collect outstanding monies. Exercises independent judgment in obtaining payments.

    ·         Ensures barriers to payment, such as proper approvals, expired PO's, and disputes are quickly identified and mediated. Communicates issues to appropriate party, conducts research as necessary and follows-through to resolution (successful collection and application).

    ·         Develops effective relationships with customers. Understands their process, key players and how to work efficiently within their system to collect outstanding balances effectively.

    ·         Keeps accurate records tracking progress and status of accounts.

    ·         Occasionally, performs other duties as assigned.

    Qualifications

    • Knowledge typically gained through 3 years of experience in Credit and/or Collections
    • Knowledge typically gained through the achievement of an AA degree or equivalent
    • Ability to tactfully communicate (oral and written) with customers and make effective decisions in how the account should be handled, especially with large strategic accounts
    • Proficient in Microsoft Office and technology applications experience
    • Strong analytical skills are required
    • Ability to work in a team environment in making business decisions and implementing process improvements

     

    Physical Requirements

     

    All positions will require, to some degree, the physical abilities described below to perform the essential functions of the job.

     

    • Work the expected hours, consistently arrive at work at the agreed time and follow Company rules and guidelines regarding breaks and meal periods. Full time is typically considered to be 40 hours per week
    • Communicate effectively, both oral and written.
    • Move around and through all work areas as needed, may include climbing stairs or ladders.
    • Lift and/or move up to 10 pounds (i.e. books, reports, binders etc).
    • Regularly sit at the assigned workstation
    • Use keyboard or equivalent equipment, to access the computer,
    • Use hands to manipulate documents and general paperwork in order to view contents
    • Read documents, reports, files etc.
    • Communicate effectively using the telephone
