  • Overview

    The CPQ Developer and Configurator works closely with the user community to configure, manage and customize the organization's Salesforce Configure, Price, Quote (CPQ) business systems. The position will also be closely involved with the configuration and support of the Salesforce CRM business system. The role requires close interaction with the user community, assisting them with developing process workflows and being responsive to business requirements. The individual is responsible for ensuring the system is correctly configured to support specified business rules, security roles, workflows and correct operations.


    • Configure Salesforce.com CRM to facilitate CPQ implementation and operation
      • Prepare Products, Accounts, and Opportunities to integrate with quote process.
    • Configure Salesforce CPQ
      • Analyze sales processes by product line via working through subject matter experts
      • Create user stories, process workflows and data models to support configuration development
      • Utilize stakeholder requirements and execute design of Salesforce CPQ to mirror sales processes, including products and respective pricing
    • Prepare data migration plans from external systems, as required
    • Ensure ongoing operation quality for the CPQ application through initial release and subsequent software updates
      • Create, maintain and execute system test cases
      • Facilitate user acceptance testing
      • Perform debugging and troubleshooting when necessary
    • Assist in developing and maintaining an integration solution architecture with Microsoft Dynamics 365 ERP
    • Assist in the development and maintenance of end user documentation
    • Assist in the development of training materials and execute train the trainer and/or end user training sessions
    • Manage security and user permissions
    • Assist in the development and reporting of KPIs to business users


    • Minimum 1-year, hands-on configuration experience through the use or implementation of CPQ.
    • Strong understanding of Salesforce standard objects and Apttus CPQ application.
    • Strong understating of Salesforce workflow concepts, including but not limited to: triggers, validation rules, assignment rules, permissions, and permission sets.
    • Relevant 4-year degree, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
    • Ability to work well in a team environment.
    • An orientation toward personal growth and continuous improvement.
    • Ability to perform the required physical elements of the job (listed below).



    • Delivers thoroughly tested and well documented systems in expected timeframe.
    • Communicates well in both oral and written forms.
    • Works effectively with user base.
    • General performance as defined by standard company performance evaluation form.
    • Works effectively with outside vendors.



    • Reports to Manager, Information Services.
    • Works with Manager, Information Systems.
    • Works directly with user base.
    • Works with 3rd party companies that provide ER with either software tools or consulting services.



    • All positions will require, to some degree, the physical abilities described below to perform the essential functions of the job
    • Work the expected hours, consistently arrive at work at the agreed time and follow Company rules and guidelines regarding breaks and meal periods 
    • Full time is typically considered to be 40 hours per week
    • Communicate effectively, both oral and written.
    • Move around and through all work areas as needed, may include climbing stairs or ladders
    • Lift and/or move up to 10 pounds (i.e. books, reports, binders etc.)
    • Regularly sit at the assigned workstation
    • Use keyboard or equivalent equipment, to access the computer,
    • Use hands to manipulate documents and general paperwork to view contents
    • Read documents, reports, files etc.
    • Communicate effectively using the telephone
