We are actively seeking a talented team player who through effective supervision of the credit and collections staff, can lead daily operations to ensure a profitable, compliant, and competitive department. This is a very hands-on role within a lean team and organization, managing collection/dispute activities, building solid working relationships between internal/external customers and continuously improving internal credit and collection processes to incorporate best practices and technical solutions. With the goal of optimizing the mix of company sales and bad debt losses, the Assistant Manager, Credit and Collections, will help define and execute the credit and collection policies and processes in accordance with guidelines established from the executive management and in partnership with other departments, such as sales, operations and customer service. Having the ability to drive automation, directly implement change, and solve problems will be important in this role. Supervisory responsibilities include developing and improving metrics for departmental performance, training (policies, procedures, compliance and skills), coaching, monitoring, counseling and motivating employees to ensure success.


  • Supervises daily activities and maximizes efforts of staff in their collection efforts on accounts receivable, with special emphasis on delinquent accounts, and/or Credit Representatives in determining credit worthiness of new or existing customers.
  • Personally manage and collect on key commerical accounts.
  • Resolves customer disputes and responds to account queries.
  • Maintains progress reports on all collection personnel.
  • Reviews accounts for possible bad debt write-offs and makes recommendations to Credit Manager.
  • Responsible for the supervision and effective training of credit representatives and/or collectors.
  • Performs other duties as assigned, including those of assigned staff.


  • Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance or related field is preferred, with three (3) years within the credit/collections field; or equivalent experience
  • Supervisory background is beneficial but not required
  • Proven ability and understanding of effective collection techniques and credit risk analysis
  • Strong understanding of Collection Effectiveness Indices (CEIs), Days Sales Outstanding (DSO) and best practices and drivers of these KPIs
  • KPIsAbility to provide leadership, guidance, motivation, and development of staff
  • Must be able to communicate clearly and concisely both orally and in writing
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite
  • Demonstrated strong organizational and time management skills
