The Asset Management Program Manager is responsible for driving profitable growth and creating long term competitive advantage for Electro Rent’s Asset Management business.  He/she is responsible for bringing breakthrough customer insight, ensuring strong product / market fit, pricing strategy and tactics, working with marketing to create industry leading demand generation programs, providing disruptive selling tools, and working closely with sales to win Asset Management business.  This role will also have some rental services product marketing responsibilities.

 

The Asset Management Program Manager will work as part of a highly motivated and collaborative team focused on producing exceptional results and having fun in the process.

Responsibilities

  • Customer Insight. Use multiple techniques to gain customer insight related to product-market fit, pricing, product/service offering definition, etc.  The Program Manager will gain insight by using multiple techniques, including direct customer conversations, participation in sales calls, interviewing sales professionals, customer surveys (in person and electronic), etc. 
  • Product / Market Fit. Lead the company to create deliver & publicize features that win in the market.  Bring your clear understanding of our engineering and service capabilities along with the above customer insight to ensure our engineering and services teams are focused only on developing capabilities that customers care deeply about and will pay for. 
  • New Product/Services Pipeline. Work closely with the engineering team to develop and manage the product development roadmap.
  • Results. Work closely with Sales to achieve the company’s revenue and margin targets related to both Asset Management and Rental Services.  Drive metrics that drive your business.  You will help determine the metrics that you track and drive as well as create and publish a monthly dashboard.
  • Pricing. Develop the pricing strategy for your business line and ensure it is executed on a daily basis.
  • Programs, Promotions, Demand Generation, Sales Tools. Work closely with Sales and the Demand Generation team to create programs, promotions and sales tools that generate demand and helps Sales win.  You will partner closely with a highly qualified and motivated team to help you grow your business.
  • Sales training & motivation. Get and keep the Sales team pumped up and focus on growing your business.  Monthly training for SAEs and Sales, recognition, contests, etc.  Also, seek out and drive implementation and the success of alternative selling channels.  Examples: EBay, dealers, Microlease.com e-commerce.

Qualifications

  • Proven track record developing and growing a product or service offering as a product marketing manager. Software and services experience preferred, but not required.
  • Product Manager or Product Planning experience in the test and measurement industry required. 
  • Strong academic background.  Engineering background preferred, but not required.
  • Deep knowledge of electronic test equipment or test environments (R&D and Field Service).
  • Driven to win and grow your business line.
  • Proven ability to work well with Sales, Marketing, Finance & Operations to achieve profitable growth.
  • Strong analytical skills, including MS Excel skills.
